For Robin Heard, RHD’s Founder and Principal Designer, design is about far more than aesthetics. It’s about people–who they are, what they love, and how they experience living in their homes.
Known for her always-inviting, character-filled take on sophisticated modern interiors, Robin works directly with each client, listening closely and at the same time picking up on the unspoken, to deliver designs that resonate with them at the deepest levels.
As a native Californian and longtime resident of Marin County, her deep familiarity with the area’s luxury home market–from new construction to historical homes and everything in between–means she understands exactly what her discerning clients are looking to achieve in their homes.
Robin holds a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, where she developed a keen mind for trends: What’s next? What’s missing in the marketplace? And while she’s more than comfortable anticipating trends, in her clients’ designs she balances what’s current with what will endure well beyond the passing trend cycles.
With nearly three decades of experience in the interior design industry and an extensive knowledge of design and architecture, Robin starts each project with a vision of what’s really possible for the home, exactly how to achieve it, and what challenges to expect along the way.
Backed by her talented team of experts and years-long relationships with all the right industry connections–from real estate professionals and builders to artists, architects, and vendors–Robin makes even the most unique visions come to life while giving her clients the best service imaginable.
Once a client trusts their project to Robin, they find they never want to make a move in their home’s design again without her help, knowing they’re already in the most capable and caring hands.
